Keno City Music & Film Festival
Keno City Music Festival is a grass roots weekend long free music festival. Art, music, film, kids, culture & communities coming together! Located four hours from Dawson, Keno City is a beautiful, small Yukon Community.
The Keno City Music Festival has evolved organically over the last five years to become a wonderful showcase of Yukon music. A free festival by Yukoners for Yukoners, volunteers from across the territory gather every August in the historic community of Keno City. United under the maxim of ‘Have fun, be safe’ an incredible amount of work and good will is employed by the community and these volunteers to welcome what is an annual pilgrimage of hundreds of supporters, fans and fellow musicians.
This influx of visitors to the Silver Trail is a boon not only for tourism and local businesses in Keno, but is also a positive economic impact for Mayo and Stewart Crossing. The community have observed an increase in tourism throughout the year in part due to people being introduced to the area via the Keno City Music Festival. With so much interest in the festival, culture, and history of Keno, as well access to the natural beauty of the area, it is not surprising that the Silver Trail is experiencing a surge of interest nationally and internationally. This includes media coverage from outlets such as the New York Times, as a well as documentary productions from as far away as Italy and Sweden on the Keno City area.
The community of Keno, through the Community Club and Mining Museum, welcomes interest and support opportunities from a variety of partners in the public and private sectors.
