SUMMARY:Dawson City Music Festival
DESCRIPTION:Arts and Culture\nEvent Details\n\nTime: June 27 @ 9:00 pm – June 27 @ 11:30 pm\n\nCost: \n\nVenue: Palace Grand Theatre\n\nAddress: Third and King St\, Dawson City\, Canada\n\nPhone: \nView Web SiteBuy Tickets Now!\nWe invite you to experience an unforgettable weekend of music in one of the world’s most unique festival environments. \nThe first Dawson City Music Festival took place in 1979. It was an intimate\, two-day affair among friends\, comprising a jam session on a West Dawson farm and a dance at Diamond Tooth Gertie’s. Quickly realizing that the Festival was too good a secret to keep\, an enterprising band of local volunteers incorporated the Dawson City Music Festival Association in 1980\, and received charitable status in 1986. \nSince then\, the event Vancouver’s Georgia Straight dubbed as “Canada’s tiny\, perfect Festival” has developed a reputation as one of the nation’s premiere musical events\, but its strengths have remained the same: unparalleled intimacy\, grassroots spirit\, fabulous Klondike hospitality\, and the best concerts North of 60! \nCome join us in celebrating DCMF under the Midnight Sun! \n\nBuy Tickets Now!

SUMMARY:Moosehide Gathering
DESCRIPTION:Arts and Culture\nEvent Details\n\nTime: June 27 @ 9:00 pm – June 27 @ 11:30 pm\n\nCost: \n\nVenue: Palace Grand Theatre\n\nAddress: Third and King St\, Dawson City\, Canada\n\nPhone: \n\nIn the late 1800s\, as tens of thousands of gold seekers arrived in the Klondike Valley\, Chief Isaac of the Hän people recognized that his community’s traditions and way of life were threatened. He took the songs and dances of his people across the border to the old Tanacross village at Lake Mansfield\, Alaska\, entrusting his relatives to preserve them until the time was right. At this time\, the Hän people moved from Tr’ochëk\, their fish camp at the mouth of the Klondike and Yukon rivers\, to Moosehide Village where we celebrate the gathering today. \nThe Tanacross community and extended family members held Chief Isaac’s songs for our people for many decades until we were ready to reclaim them. The 1991 Yukon Aboriginal Languages Conference provided inspiration for the renewal of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in culture. Our main objective was to revitalize Hän history\, songs\, dances\, and traditional dress. That same year\, we held a weekend camp to bring people together and enjoy each other’s company. \nIn 1992\, a group of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in people travelled to Tanacross to observe and learn how to host a large traditional gathering. It was then that they began learning long-forgotten Hän songs and dances. \nCommitted to revitalizing our ancestors’ celebrations\, the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in hosted the first Moosehide Gathering in 1993. Moosehide Gathering is a celebration of our culture and honoring of our heritage\, our ancestors\, and our future. We invite everyone to join us at Moosehide to share our stories\, songs\, and dances\, enjoy local and guest performers\, and the tasty feasts prepared by our cooks. We are honored to have you visit us.

SUMMARY:Discovery Day Celebrations
DESCRIPTION:Arts and Culture\nEvent Details\n\nTime: June 27 @ 9:00 pm – June 27 @ 11:30 pm\n\nCost: \n\nVenue: Palace Grand Theatre\n\nAddress: Third and King St\, Dawson City\, Canada\n\nPhone: \nView the 2025 Schedule (For reference only)\nDiscovery Days in Dawson City celebrates the discovery of gold in what is now known as Bonanza Creek in August 1896 by Kate Carmack\, her husband George Carmack\, brother Skookum Jim and cousin Dawson Charlie. Their Discovery of gold led to one of the world's greatest gold rush stampedes\, where nearly 100\,000 people migrated north in an attempt to strike it rich during the Klondike Gold Rush. \n\nToday\, Yukon celebrates our grand history with a weekend festival in Dawson City\, known as Discovery Days. The weekend is made up of events such as a parade\, a fastball tournament\, a golf tournament\, a horticultural exhibition\, as well as live music and art! \nThere are barely enough hours in the day to do and see everything! \n\n\n \nView 2025 Schedule (For reference only)
