The Maid, the Mountie and the Miner is a provocative new program that will challenge you... History was messy! Human beings with their quirks, power struggles and dreams are brought to life in this program, illustrating how tough situations get when societies and economies and lives change. The Klondike gold rush was a time of immense change and challenge for the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in First Nation, and for the hand miners who dug up these creeks. Take a peek behind the curtain of history and see the REAL story, told by those who were there.
Parks Canada offers programming from May to September. For the most up to date information on our programs please visit the Parks Canada website.
Step inside the Commissioner's Residence with Parks Canada for a brand new program. The Red Serge, Red Tape program takes a critical look at the impacts of a colonial government on the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in, and encourages participants to consider their individual responsibility to reconciliation and building a better future. Supported by the Calls to Action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, and with guidance from our community, this program is part of our ongoing work decolonizing the stories we tell about our history.
