Celebrate Canada Day Dawson City style with a day packed full of fun community events! This year we have gone virtual, but you will still feel the spirit if you are spending the day with us!

At 11:00am catch the parade from your hotel window or porch as the parade snakes a route through town trying to pass as many homes/businesses as possible.  Then, head out on a walk and see who has the best Canadiana themed yard decorations.  With virtual events including a live streamed ceremony, online cake decorating competition and a virtual run this will still be a Canada Day to celebrate and remember!

Schedule:

Ceremony, 10:30am on FB Live
– Tune in to Canada Day in Dawson City where we will Live Stream the ceremony
– Singing of the national anthem by Diamond Tooth Gertie
– Flag raising ceremony with the RCMP
– Speeches from dignitaries

Parade, 11:00am from City Hall
– Watch the parade of emergency vehicles from your yard and the comfort of your lawn chair! Parade route is posted on the Canada Day in Dawson City Facebook Event

Virtual Events:
Bake a Canada Day Cake
– Cake making kits can be picked up from the Rec Dept porch. Pick up dates: Friday, June 26/ Monday June 29/ Tuesday June 30
– Post pictures of your Canada Day cakes or cupcakes the Canada Day in Dawson City Facebook Event and be entered into a draw for some sweet prizes!

Decorate Your Yard
– Decorate your yard with your ultimate Canadiana – show us how proud you are, eh?
– Post pictures of your Canadian themed yard on the Canada Day in Dawson City Facebook Event and be entered into a draw for some fantastic prizes!

Fire up the Barbie between 5-7pm
– Instead of a community BBQ, we encourage you share your family BBQ with us! We want to see your delicious meals- post those pictures on the Canada Day in Dawson City Facebook Event all day long and be entered to win!
